For those who value your money over the safety of your employees.

Here in South Deerfield, MA we had more than a foot of snow, all the schools have been closed since yesterday, the Gov. has closed all government offices, and the news is telling viewers to stay home.  So my question to big business is "Why do you get to force those who work for you to put themselves in harms way?"
The last time I worked for a large company was a few years ago so I am not writing out of a personal grudge, but as a curiosity.  I would love to hear what the CEO of a place like Yankee Candle or even Pelican could offer as a reason to keep production going on a day like today.  My guess is that profits and shareholders would be in the couple of sentences.

Bet these people were so thankful that they didn't have a snow day....

  2. as long as your company has a union...u have the right to not go into work especially when there is a restriction against being allowed to go out. I remember last year I got stuck AT work overnight because my job took the warning VERY seriously. No one was allowed to go home until it was lifted. Thats PA weather for you!
