Looking real quick on Wikipedia this appears to be the Finnish Metal Band’s eighth album being released to date. Yes folks this is a very much so a heavy metal group. They stand out from most metal groups with their awestruck rhythmic guitars and fierce riffs. Does this cd live up to its predecessors???
Yes it does! Roope Latvala their guitarist is a very talented man. This cd is packed with amazing riffs and solos which are very rarely found on a metal cd these days. The entire cd is solid from beginning to end. My only complaint is that it is not longer, it is only 36 minutes long but let me tell you if you are a fan of this genre well worth 9.99 at best buy! The vocals are well done on the cd and draws you into the melodic riffs. This group dares to do what metal groups fear to do. Their previous album was all covers including a decent version of “Oops I Did It Again” by Britney Spears. Check it out below.
Ok, Tell me you didn’t just headbang to Britney Spears!!!! What is wrong with you??
Ok now to talk about the tracks on this cd. Their first single is “Was It Worth It??” which is found below:
This song is about was all their partying and touring worth it after all these years. They have been doing this since 1993! And of course, Alexi screams in the chorus “HELL YEAH!”, it was very well worth it. That is what the cd is about, pure metal with amazing guitars. Children of Bodom does what they want and when they want. They don’t care what critics say or what anyone wants them to play. They write and compose whatever the hell they want and they do it very well. The songs that stand out to me are the single of course, “Ugly” and its title cd song “Relentless Reckless Forever” but all in all the songs are all great.
I rate this cd 4 out of 5. As I keep enjoying this album and getting into it more I am sure it will move up to 4.5 out of 5. I am just going to go out and say it. I have not heard an album of this caliber of fast headbanging rhythmic guitars since Megadeth’s Rust In Peace which in my opinion is the best fast metal cd guitar wise.
