Motorola Pokes Fun At Apple

Motorola is spending their time on poking fun at Apple by stating their phone does not need a bumper to get good reception.  Apple has been taking some heat lately with their reception dropping when holding their phone on the lower left corner.  Their solution is to put a rubber bumper around it.  Why Apple decided to put the antenna on the bottom right is beyond me. Why not the bottom of the phone where 99% of people won’t hold it there.  Does anyone reading this hold their phone on the bottom corners?? I don’t at least.  I read a rumor on one site that claims Apple has been putting a plastic coating on the outside of the band and it has been working so far. Who knows if this is true or not but it sounds like it could work as long as the plastic coating lasts a few years so people can get out of their ungodly forever 2 year contracts!  Apple stated during their press conference a few weeks back that they did indeed make a mistake and that they are human but did not offer any real solutions to the problem. Just use a rubber bumper.  That is a nice temporary solution but what are you doing Apple about fixing it permanently??  Apple shows other phones that drop the signal when you hold them a certain way, Motorola included.  Yes, Misery loves Company.  Apple conveniently smears other companies for their cell phone reception but I am curious as to how many of the other cell phones with their providers drop the call from being held that way.  Everyone knows that AT&Ts network has been very poor. I, for one, rarely have dropped calls in my little rural town so I guess I can’t complain but I do have to complain about the network speeds!  It is really sad when I have to tether onto my friend’s Verizon’s phone to play some games faster because AT&T doesn’t have 3G in a vast amount of areas.  So of course I have no data numbers to support this but I bet most of the phones that Apple have shown of losing bars when held a certain way do not actually drop calls as often as the Iphone 4 does.  The new Iphone 4 is a great product and design, minus the antenna problem.  I am lucky I am still under contract so I can resist temptation to go buy a new Iphone 4 and wait til they fix the problem or perhaps Iphone 5! I cannot wait for 64GB Iphone to come out!!
