Music Review: Crystal Bowersox- Farmer’s Daughter

Her debut album is finally upon us. She was as most of you probably know an American Idol Runner Up.  When I first saw her on the show she was the one that stood out in my mind as the winner. It turned out Lee Dewyze ended up being the winner which I know makes some people happy.  You can tell from the show she was a folksy type singer so that is what you would expect from her cd.
Her cd features her original song Holy Toledo which she performed on the show.  That’s what I read online. I don’t remember her performing it but we will take their word for it.  Also it has a nice cover song For What It’s Worth.  Another big song on the cd is the title track which is about her abuse as a child.
She wrote eight songs on this cd which is really awesome for her to grow as an artist.  What does Britney Spears write one song on her cd if she is lucky?
So I enjoyed listening to this cd. It has a real nice folk vibe to it.  It has some very catchy songs. The lyrics get you drawn into the songs. It has a country feel to some of the songs too.  She has the look and she knows what type of music she sounds the best at.  She has a great name and the popularity so lets hope she gets some radio play and her cd can take off! I rate this cd 3.5 stars out of 5.
